Hurdz Hemp was founded by horse owners and animal lovers driven by a simple mission: to find a healthier, safer bedding solution for the animals we care for. Frustrated with the dust, odor, and inconsistent performance of traditional pine shavings and straw, we sought a better alternative—one that would promote cleaner barns, healthier breathing, and improved animal comfort.

After extensive research and real-world testing in our own barns, we discovered that hemp bedding offered everything we were searching for:

Our horses thrived—resting more, breathing easier, and even showing improved hoof health, thanks to hemp’s natural moisture-wicking properties.

However, we quickly identified a gap in the market. The hemp bedding available at the time was costly, inconsistent in quality, and primarily imported from overseas.   • Strip stall completely of all wood chip products, make sure the stall is free of all wood dust and material.

  • 4-5 bags to start, depending on preference depth of stall/base based on the preference of the horse, barn and groom.

  • Add another 33LB bag 4 - 5 days adding one or more bag to the stall. Depending on your personal preference of how deep you would like the stall floor.

  • HURDZ HEMP produces little if any dust. Using hemp for animal bedding is safer for you and for your animals.Veterinarians and farriers recommend hemp horse bedding for allergy sufferers. Horse and humans alike will appreciate less exposure to particulates that trigger allergies. HURDZ HEMP produces significantly fewer dust particles than straw, wood shavings. Many brands of pine and straw bedding claim to be dust-free, but the reality is they breakdown easily in the stall producing excessive amounts of dust. Hemp maintains its integrity resulting in less dust.
